Missa Brevis in F, K192 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)

This is only the fifth time the Chorale will be singing this wonderful Mozart Mass. Monsignor Schuler, our founding director, suggested this Mass and the Missa Brevis in D, K194 as excellent additions to our repertoire before his death in 2007. This Mass was composed in 1774 when the great Mozart was only 18.  This is one of his shorter (Brevis) Masses but is certainly a complete work for chorus, orchestra and soloists.  The editor of our score, Aurthur Mendel states,“The work is one of the miracales of music – a miracle of brevity and of childlike simplicity of spirit.”

The weekly schedule of Chorale Masses is posted here, and printed copies are at the church entrance, along with donation envelopes. The Chorale is a non-profit organization and depends on the generosity of donors. Please send contributions to: Twin Cities Catholic Chorale, P.O. Box 4234, St. Paul, MN 55104. A few of our contributors have asked about sponsoring a specific Mass on a given Sunday. If you might be interested, please contact Virginia Schubert, the Chorale’s President, at inquiry@catholicchorale.org.
